Method:
Step 1: Cut small piece of metal and put it in test tube.
Step 2: Put liquid acid into the test tube.
Step 3; Get the boiling Tube and cover the other test tube tigthly so the gas flows up into boiling tube.
Step 4: Grab burning stick and light it on fire with Bunsen burner Quickly Shove that stick into the boiling test tube and it must make a POP sound or you failed.
Observations/My experience; Our group followed the method we did it correctly but sadly we didn't
follow step 4 fast enough.
What we saw;
step 2- When we put the acid into same tube as The metal it created steamy smoke which was actually gas.
Step 3-We collected lots of gas into the tube.
Step 4- When we put the stick in the test tube ours failed it was suppose to make a loud POP sound most people in the class Got that pot sound and they created salt
