Matses Tribe are also known as the jaguar people, they are also indigenous people, that use the traditional small scale slash and burn. This tribe is located in the remote area of Amazon Forest. They settled down and has a traditional subsistence lifestyle. Their lives at in the Amazon Forest were great they built their own houses and they would hunt their food which gave them jobs to do in the forest. Time at the Amazon forest was fantastic outsiders would come join their tribe and made the tribe bigger and but then after a burn they would have to cut trees down and turn it into a farm because ground was infertile. As with many indigenous peoples,Matses struggled against resources and land grabs by petroleum, logging and mining interests ( e.g. the Canadian Petroleum Company).
Link to Matses Tribe living
This tribe went through a lot but they all took care after each other.
I did some more researching and here is a website about lots of information about matses tribe.
https://www.survivalinternational.org/tribes/matses
this Link is very helpful if you wanna learn more about this tribe.
Has the change of the Matses lifestyle been a positive or negative change?
I think it's been a positive and a negative.
Gives the people more jobs to do and to keep them busy with whats happened but also dangerous for there homes and the area they are living as other companies and businesses are trying to destroy there home basically.

My goal for move to improve is cardio masculin
Which is running and speed and working on my breathing.
Because I'm a rugby league referee and I need to keep up with the players and working on my breathing so I have the strength to talk and to try not to get tired very quickly.
How much grams does a average 15yr old need a day of...
Fats- 30-40 grams

Global warming-science
Possible effects of Global warming on New Zealand.
In Christchurch it's very dry compared to other parts of New Zealand.
It barely rains here in chch which means the grass doesn't grow and cows have nothing to eat so cows can't grow which milk isn't produced and calfs can't crow to adult cows so we don't have meat to eat.
Which also means we don't have milk and meat. So milk isn't produce which means,Cheese margarine, butter cream etc. Isn't made so we loose all our diary products we loose all our meats and then Us humans start to starve and loose protein and carbs and we don't grow and then we dye and everyone becomes lifeless, weak and then there will be no food left for us to eat.

Presentation
In class we learned about Natural disaster we had to choose A natural event to present to the class.
Lahtia and I choose to do Tropical cyclone Nargis. We did a Poster and a slide show presentation.
Link to Slideshow.
Tropical Cyclone Nargis was an event that happened in 2008.
Next time I will practice my slideshow so I don't have to read it from the computer.

Hurricanes-Social studies
This guy called Philip Came and taught us about sentence structures and today we did it about Hurricane Katrina.
Extreme storms sometimes are called, Hurricanes, Tropical cyclones and Typhoons. Strong winds up to 270 km/hr are what causes a hurricane. This hazard is caused by the heat of the ocean over 26.5 degrees Celsius plus. Storm surges, heavy rainfalls, an inland flooding is what makes hurricanes very dangerous. Hurricanes have a negative effect on humans. The Dangerous hazard causes damage to houses and local businesses or more so kill people. Which means people don’t have jobs, homeless becomes serious which also means there will be no money for them to live causing another reason of death.

Matariki Progress Social Studies Writing
Mr Langley came into social studies and taught about sentence structures he helped our class right creative sentences and starting each sentence with different words for each sentence starter.
Here is the piece I wrote below
Maori name for the seven sisters is Matariki, which is also apart of Maori new year. Matariki start in the last few days of may and this celebration can last up to 3 days. The disappearance of Matariki is in Autumn and Matariki signals the time of crop planting. Nowadays,we celebrate the importance of our earth and the land we live on.

Volcanos
In New Zealand there are two Active volcano's currently in existence
These volcano's are Mt Ruapehu and Mt Tongariro
Both volcano's are in the North Island.
Mt Ruapehu last erupted on the 25th September 2007.
Mt Tongariro last erupted on the 21st November 2012.
Active volcanoes have Erupted recently. A dormant Volcano isn't erupting right now, but vulcanologists expect it could erupt at any time. Extinct volcanoes haven't erupted for tens of thousands of years, and aren't expected to erupt again
A volcano which has not erupted in the past 10,000 years is extinct. The extinct volcano no longer has a high silica or low silica lava supply. An extinct volcano is no longer near an active geologic hot spot, if it ever was.
A dead volcano in Rome has come back to life. Scientists are saying a dormant volcano on the outskirts of Rome is poised for an eruption. However, this may not occur for a number of years. Researchers were stunned after they discovered Colli Albani, a volcano that was presumed extinct, is active once again.
What is a volcano?A mountain or hill, typically conical, having a crater or vent through which lava, rock fragments, hot vapor, and gas are or have been erupted from the earth's crust.
How is a Volcano Formed? Volcanoes are formed when magma from within the Earth's upper mantle works its way to the surface. At the surface, it erupts to form lava flows and ash deposits. Over time as the volcano continues to erupt, it will get bigger and bigger.
How far can lava travel?
The longest recent flow in Hawaii was erupted from Mauna Loa in 1859. It is about 51 kilometers long from the vent to the ocean (we don't know how much longer it went out under water, but probably not too much farther). There is a lava flow at Undara in Queensland, Australia is 100 miles (160 km) long.
How tall is an average Volcano?
Cinder cone volcanoes are fairly small, generally only about 300 feet (91 meters) tall and not rising more than 1,200 feet (366 meters).
When a Volcano is formed how long can it take before it can erupt?
Stromboli volcano off the coast of Italy has been erupting more or less continuously for over 2000 years! Other volcanoes have eruptions that last less than a day. According to the Smithsonian Institute's Global Volcanic Program, the median length of time for a single eruption is seven weeks.

Persuasive Essay
What did I learn? I learnt how to use different descriptive words in a paragraph.
Why did we do it as a class? Idk I think because most of us have trouble on writing paragraphs and we needed help so we did it as a class to get everyone ideas and to help us think more clearly.
What will I do better next time? Use different words to start my sentences and use more descriptive words.
What questions dill I still have? I have no questions.

Hornby high students should be able to
leave school to get their own food
leave school to get their own food
*Some students are responsible enough to do this.
*This will allow students more choice for food than what the canteen offers
*Students should be allowed B.K dropped off by a caregivers,as
sometimes there’s no time in the morning
sometimes there’s no time in the morning
*Students may not come back, and therefore bunk
*Could use leaving school as an incentive-in the english CARR licenses
*Should not leave the school grounds-Students need to
support the school canteen.
support the school canteen.
More choice,more time,more responsibility.
Students from Hornby High should be allowed to
leave the school grounds to buy food. This will enable
students to have more food options, more time options
,and the opportunity to show responsibility.

Hornby students want a greater variety of food.
For example,year 10’s prefer eating pies,energy
drinks,Doritos, and burgers.Other year groups desire
these foods also. This will make the students happier
outside of class and would result in them having a better
attitude in class.Teachers get to choose what they want to
eat,So why shouldn’t us students?

Not only would be allowing students to go out of

school any give
them more choice, it would also allow caregivers
more options around time management. For instance
,letting students pick up their lunch or takeaways from
outside of school during lunch it will permit caregivers,
the flexibility of time in this busy world. This will help
caregivers have the opportunity to be on time with
other appointments,if they didn’t have time to make

As well as more choices and flexibility around time
, we want Hornby students to become more responsible
as young adults. To illustrate this,Hornby High English
learners in years nine and ten have more opportunities
,chances and privileges around their decisions to learn
through a CARR license system. The student will either
be on a learners, restricted, full or expert licence with
responsible actions and consequences from being
in class. 100% of students in 10DA thought that students
on the expert license should be able to leave school at
lunch to get the food they desire.Responsibility shown
in the class should be rewarded with responsibility outside of class.

American Indians
The fierce, powerful, strong Blackfoot tribe, was located in North Dakota and South Dakota. This tribe is also known as the Siksika.
Blackfoot tribe spoke Algonquian language. They're a very religious tribe. Their religion is based on animism that encompassed the spiritual idea that the universe and all natural objects, animals, plants, trees and rivers etc, have souls or spirits.
The Blackfoot wore ankle length dresses for the woman, and they were made of buckskin. (the ski of male deer). They decorated them with beads. They also would decorate there weapons. Which were, Knives, bow and arrows, spears, lances and war clubs. They used them to kill there food. The food they ate were roots, herbs, berries and buffalo, fish and other different meat.
Did you know? That the Blackfoot tribe isn't the only tribe that believes in Animism and speaks Algonquian language and has alot of similar things like the Blackfoot tribe. The Arapaho tribe is almost the exact same as the Blackfoot tribe.
But the Arapaho tribe is located in Red Valley, Minnesota.
They have this special type of clothing they wear. Their main materials they use to decorate their clothing is porcupine and skin for deer and the buffalo.
Every year the Arapaho and the Blackfoot tribes celebrate the Sun dance ceremony.
Both tribes also eat the same kinds of food. The Arapaho tribe eats fish, trees, meat, berries and herbs.
Arapaho tribe's chief Sharp Nose is a strong and powerful leader and the Blackfoot tribe's leader is also strong, Powerful and also tough and faithful. These are some amazing chief's within the many american Indian tribes around.
These two tribes are very powerful and have alot in common but they also have their own distinctive differences within there tribes.

Science
Aim; To create salt.
Method:
Step 1: Cut small piece of metal and put it in test tube.
Step 2: Put liquid acid into the test tube.
Step 3; Get the boiling Tube and cover the other test tube tigthly so the gas flows up into boiling tube.
Step 4: Grab burning stick and light it on fire with Bunsen burner Quickly Shove that stick into the boiling test tube and it must make a POP sound or you failed.
Observations/My experience; Our group followed the method we did it correctly but sadly we didn't
follow step 4 fast enough.
What we saw;
step 2- When we put the acid into same tube as The metal it created steamy smoke which was actually gas.
Step 3-We collected lots of gas into the tube.
Step 4- When we put the stick in the test tube ours failed it was suppose to make a loud POP sound most people in the class Got that pot sound and they created salt

Social Studies Migration Project
In social Studies we are learning about migration.
I have learnt about the many difference ways of why people migrate
I have created a Powtoon to explain Some reasons why People migrate temporarily or even permanently.
Click the link below to view my Powtoon.
https://www.powtoon.com/m/ ejp5bglcpLM/1/m
Some of these reasons examples of ways or reasons why people migrate are....
Cause of Cultural,Economic,Social,Political,Environmental and/Or Just cause they want to.
Migration Is Happens alot It isn't rear.
Your're probably wondering what Migration means.
Migration means...To move to another place Temporarily or forever.
Push and pull factors are..
Push means to push someone or people to another place.
Pull factors mean to attract someone/people to there country.
People migrate for many different reasons. These reasons can be classified as economic, social, political or environmental: economic migration - moving to find work or follow a particular career path. social migration - moving somewhere for a better quality of life or to be closer to family or friends.

Motorsports encourage road users to drive or ride dangerously.
Should motorsports Encourage road users to drive or ride dangerously?
My answer to that is No motorsports and and driving on the road normally are two different things.Motorsports should have nothing to do with how people drive on the road dangerously or not and for those people that think its right to drive on the road like people on tv do in motorsports series is just completely stupid.Yes motorsports can be dangerous but it doesn’t give and excuse for people to drive like that on open and city roads there are laws for a reason.Like road signs and speed limits if you can follow them than why drive?Because your not just putting yourself at risk your putting everyone else at risk.Even though its ok for people do drive like they do on motorsports.Doesn’t give you the right to be like them.
But in theory motorsports is dangerous it can cause serious injuries and possibly death. It’s still not the point for people to drive on the road like they do.There are restrictions for a reason.Especially around school zones. So you don’t Hurt or kill the children walking or leaving school.Road restrictions are there to keep you and everyone else safe.If we didn’t have that everyone driving would be at risk and in danger and there would probably be a lot of people dead.So if you can’t follow the road laws then don’t drive it’s that simple.
That’s the reasons why I think Motorsports Don’t encourage Dangerous driving It’s there choice to drive like that not What they what on T.V.

Science
Aim:to produce sodium chloride salt by carrying out a neutralisation reaction.
Method: 1. Using the measuring cylinder measure 10ml of HCI and pour it into your 50ml beaker
2.every 10-15 drops stop adding the NaOH and use the glass stirring rod to transfer a drop of the solution to a spotting tile.
3.keep adding it and testing the solution by repeating step 2.As you get closer to netural you may need to test the solution after every drop
